how do you make a room soundproof?
we're trying to renovate one of our unused rooms in school into a jamming studio, a place where the students could come in anytime of the day and play musical instruments. the problem is though, we lack tips on how. how do you make rooms soundproof? we're also making a "freedom room" by the way, where the students could express whatever they want through medium of art. any suggestions on how?

- i need that too my mom keeps hearing me and my girlfriend make weird noises
- ear plugs.
- seal the air. fill the wall with spondges :D
- Use resilient channel (used in apartment separations) on the wall and then install plywood (a base for the foam) and then acoustic foam (which is used in sound booths)
- Maybe cork boarding? I think it absorbs sound. The media room could be painted partially with chalkboard paint. Getting lots of colorful chalk at dollar stores for the kids to draw with would be interesting. Plus, it is not permanent art, so it can be changed with mood!!
