Soundproof Walls

How can I make my room soundproof for singing?

I love to sing and I'd like some suggestions on how I can soundproof my room (OR a corner of my room) inexpensively? Help would be appreciated :) I really don't want to go all the way buying new flooring and such..

1. drink holders from mcdonalds. put them all around your room. or in that corner
2. use a few old carpets, you can also get that foamy sponge stuff with holes in them. it appears that they "adapt" the sound more
3. any cardboard type product like drink holders or egg cartons, old carpet or underlay for carpets. go to furniture or hardware and ask for old sample book of carpet. should give u a book of samples bout 12" by 12"
