Soundproof Walls

How can I soundproof my room for when I play music?

Want to play mucis loud but don't want to upset the neighbours. Is there anyway I can soundproof the room Any other ideas except egg cartons? I do appreciate the answers so far

1. egg cartons just the part were the eggs fit into stick them up all over your walls i used to run lights for a band and there practice room thats what we used egg cartons.

4. Egg carton FOAM on wall (same kind found on some hospital mattresses) would help. We have a hardware store that sells many kinds of foam of various thickness. Check to find something in your area. I think the headphone idea would be the best.
