If trying to soundproof a room due to upstairs neighbors, is it necessary to soundproof ceiling and walls?
My dogs tend to bark and disturb my upstairs neighbor. I want to soundproof the room but I'm not sure if it is necessary to soundproof both the ceiling and the walls. Does sound escape more readily through one or the other? Would only soundproofing the ceiling suffice?

- just the ceiling. the exterior walls are insulated thus making them as sound proof as they are likely to get.
- 24 pack of egg cartons work best and they are free. Sounds are more vibration then hearing. Yes if ya want silence all walls and ceilings
