What are the best acoustics strings for me?

ive been playing my acoustics guitar for a couple of months now and ive been struggling with barring chords because my strings were too hard to press. Does my guitar have anything to do with it? What brand of strings should i use?

1. guitar is fine, this is normal, use ernie ball strings
2. Get a classical guitar, they have nylon strings which are soft and easy to press and great for fingerpicking. Right now you have a steel-stringed guitar, which i have a hard time using. Classicals also have a nice, relaxed tone.
