Soundproof Walls

Will painting on my ukulele change the acoustics?

I was thinking about painting an octopus on the back of my Lanikai LU-21, but I dont know if it'll change the acoustics significantly. I'd be using water-based craft paint, not anything heavy like laquers or plastic/oil based paints.

1. It most likely won't as long as the paint isn't too heavy. The acoustics would be mostly affected if you do something to the string and hole area. Acryllics might scratch off easily, since you're painting on the back, so you might have to use a heavier paint, but use small amounts of the heavy paint. You may need to use something glossy.
